(Last Updated On: July 5, 2019)

Honored to meet Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at 3rd Media Correspondents‘ Meeting in Phnom Penh, capital of Royal Kingdom of Cambodia.

Honorable Information Minster Khieu Kanharith invited AIBD officials i.e. Ms Philomena Gnanapragasm, Interim Director of AIBD and Mr Nabeel Tirmazi (me) to attend this national event.

Prime Minister during his speech highlighted the initiatives taken by Cambodian Government for Access to Information and Cyber Security.

He emphasized the importance on journalists taking the lead in bridging citizens and Government and should contribute and analyse the issues at the level of national, regional and international strategies.

Prime Minister also discussed the challenge of fake news in the region and how it is becoming crucial to deal with such thing at the highest priority.

The Information Ministry of Royal Cambodia and AIBD will organize Asia Media Summit 2019 in the historic city of Siem Reap in June. Global media leaders will discuss issues like Fake News, Impact of Fourth Industrial Revolution on media and integrating Web 3.0/4.0 with traditional media.

I would also like to thank Excellency Sam Ath Has for his enormous effort and continous support for AIBD initiatives and hospitality both at Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
