One of the most important wisdom teachings of the Tolèque tradition is that we all dream – a unique vision and experience of the universe. It`s at the beginning of “The Four Chords” and my experience is that a lot of people slip through that part and go to the chords. Stay with me on this one. An old friend read this book to me once, when I went through a difficult time in my life. At first, I thought he was crazy because Dr. Seuss writes for children. But by the end of the book, I was in tears and it became one of my favorites. Everyone is going through difficult times. Some of them are scary. But you`re going to go through them all. Our words are so powerful. They can be used to create and can be used to destroy.
They create our reality and our dreams. Over time and with exercise, I changed the words that I not only allowed others to abuse against me, but also to abuse. Well said, Coleen. I probably quote this book every day, because the lessons always stay with me. I think every time I have a problem, one of these lessons applies and turns me around. Of course, if you haven`t read this book yet, I highly recommend it, and I`d like to share my vision of these four truths, so that you can now incorporate them into your life! My first man used his words as weapons of mass destruction. He used it to divide, separate and confuse. He used his words to scare, judge and feel bad. Until I found Don Miguel Ruiz`s book The Four Chords, I didn`t know what he was doing or why he was doing what he was doing. I didn`t know what I didn`t know. I understood the strength and effect we have with our words, until this transformative book found me. Ironically or divinely, it appeared in my life when my first marriage ended in divorce in 2002. And on Oct.
