وهان سڀني کي سنڌ جو ثقافتي ڏهاڙو مبارڪ هُجي!
Wishing every one a Happy Sindhi Cultural Day .. Sindh’s history goes back as far as 7000 BC, one of the oldest civilizations to known history. It was the centre of the Indus Valley Civilisation, which rivaled the contemporary civilizations of Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. in size and scope, numbering nearly half a million inhabitants at its height with well-planned grid cities and sewer systems. History is a very interesting subject, when you read it to find commonalities between different culture to promote peace in the contemporary world. Not only the significance of this land has been mentioned in early Buddhist literature, but also in Vedic epic Mahabharata. The land gain centre of attraction for three historical religions, i.e. Hinduism, Buddhism (spread by Ashoka) and later Islam (spread during Rashidun caliphate). There is so much to write on this great land and its rich culture, however, I would like to pay a small tribute to my ancestor Princess Jaydā al-Sindhi, who was the mother of Imamzadeh Husain Al-Asghar (will tell her story some other time) and also a Sindhi hero Rahab Sidh Datt during (another epic tale to be told in reference to 680 A.D events). Wishing all my Sindhi friends and colleagues a very happy Sindhi cultural day, may you be blessed and prosper.
